Kamauoha Farms Newsletter

July & August 2007

Kamauoha Farms is a project of Kamauoha Foundation - a non-profit organization created to serve the Native Hawaiian community.

It has been a rainy and cool July here in Hawaii.  With the rains have appeared many bright rainbows over Wahiawa.

We've dramatically reduced our prices for exotic real vanilla so be sure to take a look.

Youth from the community attended our noni and dehydration workshops and tried their hand at picking noni fruit.

A brush fire swept across the fields in Waialua scorching about 7000 acres and finally brought under control after burning for 7 days.  The fire burned completely around the Noni Farm, but left the Noni Farm untouched.

We here at Kamauoha Farms are deeply humbled and grateful that our farm was spared the fire.  Fortunately, no homes were burned and no deaths reported.  See the news clip here:

Bob the peacock is now short-tailed since he has shed his tail feathers to facilitate the growth of new plumage.

We here at Kamauoha Farms would like to say mahalo (thank you) for your continuous support for us and for our community.

Aloha nui (much love),

Noni Tip

Noni Back Compress

For back discomfort, warm Noni juice by pouring 3 tbsp of Noni into a ziplock bag and place in a bowl of hot water. Pour noni into a bowl.  Have the person being treated lie on his/her stomach on a towel with the back bare.  Dip a 6"x6" napkin (a strip of paper towl folded in half longways can also be used) in the Noni juice and place the moist napkin on the person's back at the base of the spine. Line moist Noni napkins up the spine.  If there is excess noni in the bowl, add a little more to each napkin.

Let the napkins sit on the back for at least 15 minutes.  If the person wishes to sleep or rest, let it sit longer until they get up.  To cover the back during treatment, place plastic wrap over the napkins, then cover with a shirt, towel, or blanket.  Dispose of napkins after use.  Apply daily until discomfort subsides.
